Walking with Divine Feminine

"To walk with me is to walk as me.”

These are the words author, speaker, and Harvard-trained scholar of the divine feminine, Meggan Watterson, heard in her meditation when she was contemplating the life and teachings of Mary Magdalene. She describes this in her book, Mary Magdalene Revealed: The First Apostle, Her Feminist Gospel & the Christianity We Haven't Tried Yet.

This was the inspiration I needed to bring you something very special.

A few years ago I became interested in understanding the Divine Feminine.  I have always felt a deep connection to God, but that image is steeped in masculinity.  I love the men in my life and the masculine side of myself, but I knew I was only getting half the picture.  There’s a yin energy to Source as well.  There’s a feminine side I wanted to know.  So I asked, I learned, I met her, and now I, along with my dear friend Nancy Herlin, want to share that with you in yoga and labyrinth experiences.

Our first one is March 5, 2022, and registration is now open.

The Divine Feminine is the energy that relates to Mother, Woman, Goddess, and Nature.  She is the nurturing, creative side of each of us.   She embodies strength and softness, life and death.  She is reflective like the moon and flowing like the river.  Her energy and influence is in and all around us, if only we make ourselves available see and know her.

In these Walking With Divine Feminine workshops, we will meet a woman, either from history or mythology, and learn about her unique qualities, her journey, and how she can help us ignite the Divine Feminine within.  In an all-levels yoga class we will embody her teachings and inspiration.  Guided meditation will open our minds to what she can tell us about ourselves. There will be open time to sit in Nature and listen to what she whispers.  Finally, we will invite her to join us on a sacred Labyrinth walk.

“Labyrinth walking is an ancient practice used by many different wisdom traditions for spiritual centering, contemplation, and prayer. Entering the serpentine path of a labyrinth, you walk slowly while quieting your mind. The path leading to the center can become a mirror for where we are in our lives, touching our emotions. As we physically move to the center of the pattern, we are symbolically moving to our own centers, our soul and our Divine source. This is a sacred space set aside for you to listen, look within and explore your relationship with the Divine Feminine.” –-- paraphrased description by Nancy Herlin and Wendy Bumgardner
